About Me

After years of working various Administrative positions, I was finally able to devote time to painting.  I paint in my home studio, which is located in beautiful state of Virginia. 

I was inspired at an early age to draw by watching my older sister create.  Mostly, sketching portraits in pencil to see if anyone would be able to recognize the person in the drawing.  As a young adult I moved to Virginia to study art, taking classes and experimenting with various techniques and styles when earning my degree. 

I enjoy using all mediums and have been fortunate to glean further art experience from working with theater set-designers and professional decorative painters.  My work mostly represents the beauty of creation (land, sea, living or still) and anything else the gift of imagination allows me to create.  Trying to come up with new and creative ways of representing local surroundings in my painting.  I hope the creations brought to my imagination will add a smile to others and brighten their homes. 

Besides working on my own paintings, I am part of a team of local educators as an art instructor for children.  Also, illustrating books for children of my own writings and for others.  When I am not painting, I love to spend time with my husband, friends and family.
